Commercial Cottage

There is a FOR RENT sign in front of this cottage on busy Oglethorpe Avenue,
two doors down from the fire station. It is zoned Commercial. It appears
out of place here, looking instead as if it should be on a shady street
in a small village. Well, if you ignore
the traffic, crowds and suburban sprawl,
Savannah is a small village of shady streets.
I appreciate these eclectic streetscapes.

back to the DRAWING board (again)

Really. I mean it, this time. I don't want this to be
a documentation of the apologetic process
of trying to make drawings of the streets of Savannah.

(Streetscapes of Utah)

I had the fortune of traveling through EUREKA, UTAH recently.
A silver mining town that peaked around the turn of the 20th century.
I am thinking about carving out little pockets of time
to draw streets in other towns I visit
(notably Charleston, South Carolina.)
Thinking about it
is taking the time I could use in actually doing it...

back to the DRAWING board

A little rusty after months of book-making.
The Savannah Fire Department is a good starter, and it's in a great block on
Oglethorpe Avenue with a highly eclectic streetscape.
I'll work on better (photo)documentation.
