Peek at Maine
I've been working on a really neat project for the past several weeks, streetscape drawings commissioned for a coastal town in M A I N E. One of my favorite places in the US, I've pretended to be there, immersing myself in photographs while drawing the buildings in my studio in Maryland. Captain's Row ALEXANDRIA VA: First Print
I drew the 100 Block of Prince Street, north side, Alexandria Virginia, two months ago. It is known as "Captain's Row." I also appreciated "Gentry Row" of the 200 Block Prince Street, same side.I dubbed the Athenaeum (the former Bank of the Old Dominion) the "Centerpiece", like a hinge between these two Rows. This idea is the framework for a series of two streetscape prints. The first Alexandria print is "Captain's Row." I would like to find a place for it in Alexandria, but it's always available in my SHOP.

North Carolina Cabin Map
Mr. H. built his cabin high in the North Carolina mountains, just below the ridge and the outcropping known as 'Eagle Rock' from which the blue ridge panorama stretches all around. It's a beautiful place, commemorated in this illustrative map, custom-made for this special spot of ground. I designed a pattern from four of my hand-drawn trees, combined with loose watercolor, to blanket the map and the map border reflects back the blue ridge views.
